This weekend’s headliner on River Country Rising Stars was Steve Jevne. Steve is originally from BC but moved to Calgary growing up which is where he came to love country music. Steve has been motivated to like country as it was everythere in Calgary and he came to love the guitar skills of the 90s country acts including that of Brad Paisley. Growing up Steve was friends with Lindsay Ell as well as friends with Katie of Nice Horse which was interesting to learn. Steve is getting ready for his own tour in southern Alberta and parts of BC, and in the lead up has released a bluesy country number called “Mr. Bartender.”
In my conversation with Steve, I found out about his past as well as his future plans. I also found out about the new song “Mr. Bartender” and how it came about.
