Peace River MLA Dan Williams says getting more economic investments into the region is one of his priorities going into the next session of the Alberta Legislature.

The Trending 55 Newsroom talked with Williams and says he’s excited to see more investments into the agriculture, forestry and oil and gas industries.

“We have great prices for oil and gas right now, we’re seeing more and more activity in our region which is coming through to our local economy. So the good news is that our resource industry and the private sector are starting to pick up in really big ways and I think that we’re going to go through a good couple of years here coming up and we’re starting to see that right now.”

After the municipal elections that happened earlier this week, the MLA for Peace River says he’s looking forward to working with the new councils around the region.

“Working with the Town of Peace River on all sorts of important infrastructure including waste treatment, working with Mackenzie County on continuing to move forward on more access to farm land, working with all the different municipalities and what they bring forward.”
