  1. The Alberta Government is fast-tracking $84 million dollars to day cares across the province. Facilities are to receive 80% of their monthly claim, which began on Friday.
    This is to buy time for the Government to introduce the grant payments coming to operators sooner.
  2. The Provincial Government is earmarking $151 million dollars over the next three years to prepare for wildfires with prevention, response and mitigation.
    The Wildfire branch is continuing to explore, research and test new developments in prevention, mitigation, smoke detection, and suppression for rapid response.
  3. Community flags around the Peace and Mackenzie are flying at half staff, in honour of a former Prime Minister.
    Brian Mulroney passed away on Thursday afternoon, after being hospitalized from a fall at his home in Palm Beach Florida. He was 84 years of age.
  4. Terrorism charges have been laid in connection with the January attack on Edmonton City Hall.
    Bezhani Sarvar, 28, a former commissionaire from Edmonton, is accused of firing several shots inside city hall on Jan. 23, as well as throwing a Molotov cocktail from the second floor.
  5. Federal Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland says federal budget will provide Canadians the state of the country’s finances and an overall economic outlook, as well as further Liberal spending plans amid an ongoing affordability crisis.
