Steven Lee Olsen brought his Country Night in Canada tour to Grande Prairie Monday night in a smaller setting of the casino and he brought alongside him the lovable JoJo Mason. The show being on a Monday night, might have deterred some people but not an 18th birthday party which became a part of the show.

The show saw a hockey thing as the name might have suggested, and was kicked off with JoJo, as no opener was scheduled for the GP show or the one in Dawson Creek the next night. JoJo brought some energy and good vibes as he always tends to do to his performances. Included in his set was his new single “Just Like You” which was the slowest of his energetic set. JoJo would sing happy birthday to the birthday girl Sid, with her and her party bringing the energy to the crowd getting up and dancing to various songs. A lovely older couple got to doing some dancing that JoJo filmed as he performed loving seeing the love in the couples relationship. Fans would take photos for with JoJo after his set, to which I was asked by JoJo to snap the photos using their phones to help him out.

Steven Lee Olsen would hit the stage for his headlining set bringing songs from his past, his new one “Never Not Care” and songs he has written but were recorded by other artists like “Blue Ain’t Your Color” (recorded by Keith Urban) and “Make A Life Not A Living” (recorded by Brett Kissel). Steven Lee also sang Happy Birthday to Sid and had some fun with the special birthday girl. Steven was great live, my first time seeing a full set from the Canadian Nashville based artist, who told the story of a bus fire they had including Brett Kissel offering his tour bus up to them if need be. JoJo Mason would come back out in a tour hockey jersey to perform “I Had Some Help” by Post Malone and Morgan Wallen, before Steven would finish off the show himself.

This was a fun show, I wish it wasn’t on a Monday so more people likely would’ve shown up. A feel like it was a private birthday concert that myself and others might have crashed. JoJo is always great to see live and interact with fans on and off the stage. Steven Lee Olsen, who I missed seeing at the GP Stompede last year is someone I would see again in concert.
