This weekend on River Country Rising Stars the show was headlined by Matt Johner and his new song “Wonder Woman.” Matt like his last name suggests is the son of Canadian country music icon Brad Johner. Despite the the last name music wasn’t a big passion for Matt at first and now that he is in it he wants to create his own legacy, away from his father. Thought his time growing up around his dad and his career as led to great examples for how Matt wants to carry himself and his career. There is a funny way he got involved in what became a family band you will have to hear it to believe it.
The headlining song was Matt’s newest single “Wonder Woman.” The song is a very different sound from the singer-songwriter’s first single “D.U.I,” which can be heard on the station. The difference in sound is something that gave Matt a bit of a worry, but it is safe to say the risk pays off.
