This weekend of River Country Rising Stars the show was headlined by Dusty Golden and his new song “Against The Grain.” Dusty is a bull rider by trade but is slowly making the transition from bull rider to full time musician. While recuperating from a serious injury Dusty has taken a big leap forward in his music, but he isn’t quite ready yet to give up bull riding.
Growing up on a farm and with a family history of rodeo and bull riders Dusty has used it to influence his music including the new song “Against The Grain.” The song is a relatable one, describing that scary yet exiting feeling of the kid who grew up out of town and is thinking about taking their first steps away from home. It doesn’t matter what it is in life, the song is about moving forward in life, even if it does mean leaving the comfort of your current situation.
