This weekend on River Country Rising Stars was Austin Ryder. Austin is the son of a MCMA award winner and is looking to make a name for himself while studying in Calgary playing notable venues like Ranchman’s. While he got his start with his old man and enjoys playing with him, Austin wants to make his own name and doesn’t use his last name for that reason. Austin is playing some shows during the Calgary Stampede after playing at Dauphin’s Countryfest recently.
Austin’s debut radio single is “Spin” a song that was pitched to him amongst many others that just seemed to the one for him to choose. The one doing the pitching was Bart McKay the producer of the song, who is one of the most notable producers in Canadian country music. The song is a fun one for the summertime and Austin hopes it will help get his name out there.
