This weekends headliner on Rising Stars was Angelica Appelman. Angelica is a singer-songwriter originally from Kitchener, ON, though has moved to a smaller community. Angelica has had a passion for singing, growing up doing musical theatre and discovering her love of song writing, which she kept hidden for a few years. Well safe to say it isn’t hidden anymore as she only a few years into a her career continues to grow and make more of a name for herself. She just released her song “Ringtone” which was the headlining song.
“Ringtone” came from Angelica Appelman working with Melissa Livingstone (a past headliner) and Nicole Rayy, with David Madras contributing as well. The song has elements of 90’s early 2000 pop from the Carter brothers (Aaron and Nick) and even Shania Twain. The song is being added to the River Country rotation on Monday, only the 2nd song to directly go from headlining to rotation immediately.
Check out my conversation with Angelica Appelman:
