It has been announced this morning that when the CCMA Awards are held September 16th in Hamilton, ON that the 7x CCMA Award winning brother sister duo The Reklaws, who were already announced to be performing, will also be serving as hosts of the awards.
It was also announced last night that Sam Hunt would be performing at this years show, and this morning even more acts were announced. Jade Eagleson, James Barker Band, Dallas Smith, Tenille Townes and Train will be will also be performing. All those joining the prior announced Dean Brody, Carly Pearce and Josh Ross. That bring the the total performers to 9 acts at this time.
My guess is we will see some acts performing together as with all these talented performers at some point they will have to hand out some hardware that night in Hamilton in what I believe is a 2 hour telecast. I don’t remember a time, I would have to go back and watch them when so many American acts were scheduled to be performing, as in recent years one may co-host/perform and maybe one more like last year with Blanco Brown and 98 Degrees.
For those who want to watch the awards but aren’t up for the trip to “The Hammer,” the award show will be televised September 16th at 6pm MST exclusively on CTV, CTV.ca and the CTV App.
