It’s been 15 years but the Karate Kid is back and ready to fight.
The Karate Kid is an iconic franchise and with the newest film, they are bringing back legends. Daniel from the first Karate Kid and Mr. Han from the 2010 film. In this movie, they must come together to train a new Karate Kid.

The Movie follows Li Fong as he moves to New York and his mom has one rule for him…don’t fight. Judging by the title of the movie we can guess how that goes. He tries to avoid it as much as possible though. Although, when his first friend’s dad is in trouble Li trains the dad to fight. Things don’t go quite according to plan though. So, now Li must take the stage and train to compete in a city-wide fight to earn the money he needs to help the ones he cares about.

I just love how fun this one is. In the beginning, it felt like a 2000s movie in the best way possible. The kid moves to a new town, meets a girl and bully, and has to stand up for himself. It’s a classic tale to start but I love how it’s done. And with Li training someone else it puts a spin on the typical tale.

I also love the editing it has so many fun scene transitions. They also have on-screen graphics during the final competition that show each time a competitor got hot and it really added to the excitement.

This movie is also hilarious it made me laugh out loud in the theatre quite a few times. Li’s mom hired him a tutor named Alan and he became, I think, my favourite character. He had so many good lines and was a surprisingly good wingman considering he probably was only making minimum wage.

If you’re a fan of the franchise this is one that is definitely worth giving a watch. Getting fan favourite characters together for another film. There are also a few nods for those who have seen the other movies. But even if you haven’t, this one is definitely worth giving a watch. If you want to see more check out the trailer below. Although this trailer is a lot more serious than I feel like the movie is…
