For me I love the show Heels, maybe cause I grew up on watching wrestling, but I have waited a long time for this second season of the show and it is a month away.
Heels premise is: “Two brothers and rivals, one a villain, or “heel” in professional wrestling, the other a hero, or “face,” play out scripted matches as they war over their late father’s wrestling promotion and vie for national attention in small town Georgia.”
The show stars Canadian actors Stephen Amell (Arrow) and Alexander Ludwig (Vikings), along side a great assemble cast that has seen pro-wrestlers have recurring or guest roles like CM Punk and Mick Foley. It appears Punk’s wife and former pro-wrestle AJ Lee (real name April (AJ) Mendez) will have a guest role if not a recurring one this season.
The season will pick up after the biggest show in the companies history and the fallout for all of Jack Spade’s actions (Amell) as he tries to keep the company afloat and growing. Will he be able to repair his marriage and relationship with his brother? What is going through Ace’s head after he discovers the truth behind his brothers actions? What will happen with Crystal as champion? Is she even technically the champion? All will be answered soon enough.
The show is on Starz and is set to return at long last July 28th.
Even if you aren’t a fan of wrestling I think you will like the show if you give it a shot, if you are a wrestling fan I know you will like it.
