With the release of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania I decided to compile a list of the top 5 films from the Marvel Cinematic Universe known simply as the MCU. There are a lot of movies to be considered but here is my personal top 5 MCU movies.
5. Avengers Infinity Wars
Avengers Infinity Wars was a great film that showed how all many of the MCU hero’s linked up and had some amazing fight scenes with great comedy thrown in. I gotta say it was a major film for Thor after Ragnarok to really cement his value to the team. This is where we really see Thanos do damage as we get to see how strong he truly can be in the race for the infinity stones.
4. Iron Man
The movie that kicked it all off and gave Robert Downey Jr. his career back non other than Iron Man. The movie provided the juice to get the whole MCU going with RDJ providing great moments of comedy entertaining everyone who watched. We see how Tony Stark goes from flawed human to trying to become more as Iron Man.
3. Avengers
In the bronze spot is the first Avengers film for me. This Avengers saw the merging of the heroes for the first time as they do battle with Loki and his army. Avengers gives great storylines and we start to see or question if S.H.I.E.L.D is the organization we think it is. This movie will always have a soft spot for fans of the MCU.
2. Thor: Ragnarok
The runner up spot is the 3rd Thor solo film which is where we see Thor films take a comedic twist under the direction of Taika Waititi. The movie sees Thor have to do battle with his sister Hela while trying to prevent Ragnarok from destroying Asgard. It sees Thor team up with Loki and introduces Valkyrie. The movie was a massive hit as the Thor movies were hit and miss until this one.
1. Captain America: Winter Solider
The top one so far is Captain America: winter Solider. Captain America had a big first movie but the sequel blew it and every movie before and since out of the water. This one has Captain America begin to truly question S.H.I.E.L.D and Nick Fury as he goes up against a master assassin known as the Winter Solider. This introduces the Sam Wilson aka Falcon while setting the beginning stages for Captain America: Civil War. This movie is jammed with action and the best single movie storytelling. It is one I feel they still haven’t topped.
