A contract worker was killed early Friday morning at a Suncor Industrial Site north of Fort McMurray.
Wood Buffalo RCMP was called to the work site at 9:40 AM to assist emergency services at the Oilsands mine where the man died.
The victim was buried while performing trenching work.
Police have not released any further information, as the investigation remains ongoing.
Various news reports say that the worker was employed by Calgary-based construction company AECON Mining.
The victim’s identity has not been released.
