A biopic about the iconic singer Bob Marley is set for a January 12, 2024. The movie called Bob Marley: One Love is set to centre around his rise to fame and the career until his death 1981 and the age of 36 and will star Kingsley Ben-Adir as the singer. Lashana Lynch (No Time To Die & The Woman King) playing the singers widow with Michael Gandolfini, Jesse Cilio, James Norton in the cast.
From the trailer it appears the movie will focus on his message for peace more than anything as despite an assassination attempt he remained or moved back to Jamaica during a turbulent time. I think it is a long time coming for a biopic of Marley given his music holding relevance and popularity over 40 years since his passing. I will be interested to see how they play this movie out, as I am not that knowledgeable of his life but it always lingers how honest and truthful will they be about the iconic reggae singers life.
