Over the past weekend Shania headlined 3 nights of the Churchill Park Music Festival in St. John’s, NL and on the Sunday night the opening act was PEI’s Alli Walker, Alli’s song “I Like Big Trucks” can be heard here on River Country. When Shania was out on the stage for her set she brought Alli back out with her electric bagpipes to give Shania a quick lesson on the instrument before getting Alli to play the instrument during “Any Man Of Mine.” Following that Shania offered to do a duet so they did a quick version of Alli’s song “Whiskey’s Gone.” Shania, one of her back up performers as well as calling Lindsay Ell, who plays in Shania’s band when available, out to sing as well. This made for a memorable moment for Alli who is really making a name for herself. Not only did this happen but Shania herself was posting photos and videos of the interaction with the now Nashville resident.

Shania’s vocals aren’t what they used to be, but she continues to put it all in her performances to electrify the crowds but also with her tours and performances she has really been giving young female artists chances to shine. On her past Queen of Me tour, she had the likes of Lindsay Ell, Robyn Ottolini and Tenille Townes open for her on her Canadian tour dates as well as young up and coming women in the US. All the women would also join Shania on stage for “Party For Two” giving them moments with the legendary pop-country singer. Having Alli out there was certainly just another moment like that as Shania appears to truly want to give back to the newer crop of female talent.
