ACP Holding Day of Science in Lacombe

The Alberta Canola Producers Commission (ACP) is holding a day of canola science next week.

Murray Hartman’s Science-O-Rama is set to go at the Memorial Centre in Lacombe on Wednesday, April 5, 2017 from 9 AM to 4 PM.

The event will feature updates and results from recently completed research projects funded by the ACP, as well as its many partners.

A total of eight speakers will be presenting at the event, including Dr. Kabel Gill, who is currently the Research Coordinator for the Smoky Applied Research & Demonstration Association (SARDA) based out of Falher. Dr. Gill will be discussing a study on superior crop rotations.

Others, like Scott Meers from Alberta Agriculture and Forestry (AF), will talk about the bertha army network monitoring system in the province, the swede midge survey, as well as new midge species.

Also, Dr. Markus Samuel from the University of Calgary will discuss bio-solutions to canola green seed problems.
