The Peace River School Division Board of Trustees is preparing for its next round of school tours, with a visit to Red Earth Creek School scheduled for April 30. The tours are designed to help trustees better understand school facilities across the division.
Trustees are also reaching out to the Peace River community for input on education priorities. An in-person engagement session will be held April 30 at 7 p.m. at TA Norris Middle School, alongside an online survey, as the board gathers feedback ahead of a value-setting session in June.
In Cleardale, trustees continue to explore ways to support Menno Simons Community School, which is currently under capacity. The board plans to meet again with the Cleardale Agricultural Society to encourage community-driven ideas that could boost enrollment.
Meanwhile, the division is moving ahead with the province’s purchase of the former Dixonville School building. A decision on the remaining land could come as early as May.
And in a recent special meeting, trustees approved the purchase of seven new school buses, valued at just over 1.25 million dollars, as part of their ongoing fleet replacement program.
