Conditions continue to improve along the Peace River, as Alberta Rivers and the town have ended the Ice Advisory for the area.
Significant break-up has occurred, and will occur into this week, as temps rise into the Spring-like catergory.
Meanwhile, Flood Warnings are continuing for Northern sections of the East and West Prairie Rivers, near High Prairie.
Big Lakes County is conducting a special Council meeting this afternoon to discuss Flood Mitigation.
Charges have been laid against 37 year-old Daniel Michel Campion in connection to the death at the Petro-Canada on Peace River’s West Hill last week.
Campion has been charged with Manslaughter, Criminal Negligence causing death, and Dangerous Driving causing death in the homicide of 74 year-old Hashi Guled.
RCMP in the Manning area are warning the public of an Investor Alert that police, and the Alberta Securities Commission say, is not registered in Alberta.
Back in February, the Alert was issued on an entity on 4th Avenue in Manning, was possibly engaged in providing investment contracts and trading in securities without dealer or adviser registration.

The Town of Peace River is seeking interest in the redeveloping of Juliette’s Place downtown.
Authorities are open to a range of ideas and proposals, that are hoping to align with the town’s long-term goals. Juliette’s Place was destroyed by fire in September of 2021.
Tim Horton’s Smile Cookie campaign starts today, with proceeding benefitting local charities.
