This weekend on Rising Stars the show was headlined by Doug Folinks. Doug is a singer-songwriter from out in Campbell River, BC and is more into the songwriting than the actual performing. While Doug does enjoy performing his love come in the form of songwriting and performing as a way of getting the music out there. Doug has some impressive songwriting achievements with over 6 million collective songwriting streams on Spotify and 200+ of his songs recorded by other artists. In addition to over 70 Film and TV song placements, including NBC’s “The Voice”. Some of Doug’s songs have also been performed on the Grand Ole Opry Stage and at the Blue Bird Café. He is a regular co-writer with many Nashville hit makers and recognized Canadian artists such as Aaron Goodvin, Don Amero, Wes Mac, Buck Twenty, and Hailey Benedict.

Doug’s new song “Made To Change” was featured which is a song about the contrast of enduring values and a rapidly changing world. The song talks about cherishing timeless joys like fishing, family pride, and faith. It highlights that while much evolves, core values—like tradition, loyalty, and living fully—remain constant.
