This weekend on Rising Stars the headliner was Cruz Vallis and his new song “My Kind” which he did with past headliner Riley Taylor. Cruz is a talent who is from the east coast of Canada originally but for the last decade has lived in the west, currently in Spruce Grove. Cruz is apart of Honky Tonk Record Co. with Riley and a small number of emerging talents. While music is not currently Cruz’s full-time job he certainly looks forward to possibility of it while he works construction in the mean time.
“My Kind” which is performed by Cruz and Riley Taylor was written by Jesse Slack, award winning songwriter Daryl Scott and Adam Newcomb, Adam also served as the songs producer. The song was pitched to them and while Cruz is unaware of if it was intended to be a duet, it certainly works better as one
