Jimmy Kimmel hosted the 95th Academy Awards were last night, which saw 4 Canadians in Adrien Morot (Montreal), Daniel Roher (Toronto), Sarah Polley (Toronto) and Brendan Fraser (grew up in Ottawa and Toronto) become winners. The show went back to broadcasting all the awards a change from the last year or two.  The biggest winner of the night was Everything Everywhere All at Once who took home 7 out of its 11 nominations. All Quiet on the Western Front (4) and The Whale (2) were two others who took home multiple awards. The Whale’s winners were 2 of the 4 Canadians winners.

The show did get a lot of flack online for using time in the long telecast to have a trailer presented on stage for The Little Mermaid. The show is broadcasted on ABC which is owned by Disney who also is the maker of the up coming movie.
