Busboys follows Steef and Markie as they think all their problems will be solved once they become waiters. to achieve their goal, they take entry-level busboy positions, hoping to get promoted. This is a comedy film, so going in, you know that there are going to be some wild scenarios and shenanigans. Although their main goal is to become waiters, along the way they will sell drugs, go undercover at a school and even find long-lost family members. Yeah, it’s kind of wild.
This movie gave me quite a few laughs and had some great comedic bits. For example, they are able to evade capture by the police multiple times. This is because too many different departments show up, and then they are too distracted bickering with each other, so our main characters are unable to walk away. Or there are just some throwaway bits when they run over a herd of rabbits or feed a lizard a skittle.
Overall, it’s no cinematic masterpiece, but if you are looking for a bit of absurd humour, this one fits the bill. If you want to see more, check out the trailer below.
