Yellowknife driver faces impaired driving charges (Update and Correction)

**Correction**

The 33-year-old female passenger of the Silverado died at the scene. The driver of the Silverado, a 35-year-old male resident of Yellowknife, suffered serious injuries and was transported to hospital.

The driver of the Dodge was Bradley Beaulieu, who has been charged.

The Dodge Ram was travelling southbound in the northbound lane and the northbound Silverado took evasive action but was struck by the Dodge Ram.  The accused, BEAULIEU, was driving the Dodge Ram.

The other injured driver was driving the Silverado and the deceased was the passenger in this vehicle.

The RCMP apologizes for the confusion.

High Level RCMP charge male in impaired driving fatal collision

High Level, Alta. – On June 24, 2023, at approximately 12:15 p.m., High Level RCMP responded to a two vehicle collision on Highway 35, 10 km’s north of the intersection of Highway 35 and 697. Investigation revealed that a northbound Silverado truck was driving in the southbound lane when it collided with a southbound Dodge Ram.

A 33-year-old female passenger of the Silverado, a resident of Yellowknife, NT., died at the scene. The driver of the Dodge, a 35-year-old male resident of Yellowknife, suffered serious injuries and was transported to hospital.

The driver of the Silverado, Bradley Beaulieu (24), a resident of Yellowknife, has been charged with:

  • Operation of a motor vehicle while impaired causing death
  • Operation of a motor vehicle while impaired causing bodily harm
  • Operation of a motor vehicle while over 80 mg% causing death
  • Operation of a motor vehicle while over 80 mg% causing bodily harm
  • Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing death
  • Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing bodily harm
  • Operate a motor vehicle while prohibited

After a Judicial Interim Release Hearing, Beaulieu was remanded into custody with his next appearance at Alberta Court of Justice in High Level on July 10, 2023.

As this matter is before the courts, no further information will be released.
