The Peace Regional Women’s Shelter has made progress in dealing with the black mould issue.
The shelter says that professionals have cleaned up the affected areas, and air quality experts have given the green light to start putting the building back together.
The clean-up work on the mould problem means the shelter is still unable to accept clients at this time.
Costs for the project are estimated to be at around $422,000.
The Women’s Shelter has continued to receive funding help from local municipalities, including last week $20,000 coming from the Town of Peace River.
Town Council has also written to Peace River MLA Dan Williams and Children and Family Services Minister Searle Turton to try and get the province to provide some financial assistance as well.
