Wildfire Incident at Highway 35
Road Closure
Highway 35 from the Zama Road to the NWT border is CLOSED due to the wildfire at the NWT/Alberta border.
Access to Zama City remains open.

Weberville and Carcajou Fires:
As of today, there are no updates regarding the fires in the areas of Weberville and Carcajou. Both fires remain being held, are within the Peace River Forest Protection Area (FPA), and are under the control of Forestry.

Alberta Wildfire continues its response to a fire approximately nine kilometres north-west of the Town of Peace River (several kilometres north-east of Grimshaw). The fire is currently being held with firefighters and some heavy equipment on scene. The cause of this fire is currently under investigation.

Weberville Area Fire:
Emergency personnel are currently responding to a wildfire north of Township Road 842, between Range Roads 223 and 225.
The fire is being contained by firebreaks and retardant. There is no threat to structures.
Residents and members of the public are advised to refrain from visiting the response area, so as to not interfere with emergency responders and equipment.
