Weather Data being collected in Peace River (Lynn Engel)

The Peace River area has been chosen to be part of a PHD thesis on weather.

A science Department at the University of British Columbia, as well as BC Hydro, are asking a PHD student to collect weather data for future predictions.

The University and BC Hydro are collection this information for future weather and ice forecasting models.

Data collection is being done with an old-school method, as helium balloons are being released into the atmosphere, attached to weather transmitters to obtain the information.

Lynn Engel is a PHD student at UBC, but is here doing the field research.
