Vehicle robbery with a firearm in Cadotte Lake

***RCMP Media Release***

On November 8, 2021, at approximately 11 p.m., Peace Regional RCMP received a report of a robbery with a firearm that had occurred on the Woodland Cree First Nation, Alta.

Peace Regional RCMP attended, along with emergency medical services, who treated the victim for minor injuries that did not require transport.

Further investigation determined that at approximately 10:50 p.m., security personnel working in Cadotte Lake, Alta., was seated in a parked vehicle. It was reported that two male suspects allegedly approached—armed with a rifle—and banged on the window. An interaction occurred where one of the suspects discharged the firearm and gained entry to the employee’s vehicle. During this incident, the employee was assaulted before the suspects took the vehicle and fled. The employee left the area and then reported to police.

Peace Regional RCMP, along with the assistance of RCMP Forensic Identification Services and Peace Regional RCMP General Investigation Section continue to investigate this incident.

The stolen vehicle has not been located. It is described as a:

  • Jeep Compass
  • 2020
  • Black
  • Alberta License Plate CFW8554
  • Dirty
