Valleyview RCMP investigate fatal hit and run collision on Highway 43
Sturgeon Lake Cree Nation, Alta. – On Dec. 21, 2024, at 6:30 a.m. Valleyview RCMP received a report of a deceased person on the edge of the roadway on Highway 43 between Valleyview and Sturgeon Lake Cree Nation.
Upon arrival, emergency responders tended to the victim, a 34-year-old female resident of Sturgeon Lake Cree Nation however, she was deceased.
The Western Alberta District General Investigations Section with support from the Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit and Valleyview RCMP continue to investigate.
RCMP are asking anyone travelling on Highway 43 at Sturgeon Lake Cree Nation on Dec. 21, 2024, between the hours of 5:30 a.m. and 6:30 a.m. and who may have dash camera footage to please contact investigators.
