On June 22, 2025, at approximately 6:15 a.m., Valleyview RCMP responded to a call on Sturgeon Lake First Nation, where they discovered a deceased individual.
The RCMP Serious Crimes Branch has taken over the homicide investigation, which is currently believed to be an isolated incident.
Residents can expect a significant police presence in the area and are advised to avoid the immediate vicinity.
The RCMP also request that the public refrain from posting police activities on social media to ensure safety.
Community members are encouraged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity or tips to the Valleyview RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
