Two People Charged in GP Following Seizure of Drugs and a Loaded Firearm

Two people are facing charges after Grande Prairie RCMP seized illicit drugs, money, and a stolen, loaded firearm on July 13, 2017.

34-year-old Jeante Maddox is charged with three offences under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act, as well as 12 offences under the Criminal Code of Canada.

As well, a woman with him has also been charged. Her name has not been released.

Police had been conducting an investigation that led them to a local pharmacy’s parking lot, where they arrested the two suspects without incident. After further investigation, RCMP confiscated 35 grams of cocaine, 13 grams of methamphetamine, $2,400 in cash, as well as a loaded firearm, later determined to have been stolen during a separate break-and-enter investigation.

Maddox is set to appear in a Grande Prairie courtroom on Monday, July 31, 2017.
