Three people facing charges following shooting incident in High Prairie

Three suspects will be facing charges stemming from an alleged incident in High Prairie this past Sunday.

At around 2:00 AM on May 31, the High Prairie RCMP responded to a traffic complaint and gunshots were fired in the direction of officers.

The detachment says no one was hurt.

Two guns were seized as well.

The charges are as follows:

29-year-old Courtney Michelle Cunningham of Edmonton is charged with nine criminal offences, including six firearm offences.

37-year-old Archie Peter Papastesis of Valleyview is charged with eight criminal charges, including six firearms/weapons offences.  

32-year-old Kenny Manichoose of Valleyview is charged with nine criminal charges including six firearms / weapons offences, flight from police, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and possession of stolen property. 

The suspects were released from custody on conditions.  Cunningham is scheduled to attend court on June 15. Both Papastesis and Manichoose have their next court appearance scheduled for July 13, in High Prairie Provincial Court.
