- From the RCMP’s weekly wanted file, police in High Level and area are continuing to look for Ryley Cole Chomiak.
He’s wanted for activities in La Crete, High Level, Bushe River and Mackenzie County, with his last known whereabouts being in High Level. - Water restrictions are continuing in La Crete, as the hamlet is under a Stage 2 Advisory.
The Water Rationing stage means that residents are restricted to outdoor water use between 6 a.m. and 8 a.m., and 9 p.m. to 11 p.m. - School libraries across the province will soon have minimum standards put in place on what material is considered age appropriate. (Interview in separate story)
This wouldn’t have any effect on public libraries located within schools, Education Minister Demetrios Nicolaides says those libraries would fall under municipal affairs. - The High School Classes of 2025 around the area are beginning to be recognized.
Towns and villages around the region are starting to hang the graduate banners on street posts. - The Summer Solstice celebration that is North Country Fair starts tomorrow in the Driftpile Valley.
Many musical artists will be there, as well as food booths, local businesses and camping being available. - The roar of the Jet Boats are being heard on the Peace River as the competition of the World Jet Boat Championship get ready for this weekend.
Registration starts today, with the Show and Shine tomorrow, with the first three legs of the competition starting on Saturday. - Week 3 of the CFL season begins tonight with Montreal is Edmonton.
- The Toronto Blue Jays look for the three-game sweep this afternoon against Arizona at Roger’s Center. Kevin Gausman starts for the Jays against Ryne Nelson.
- Chance of showers this afternoon in the Peace and Big Lakes, while the Mackenzie deals with mainly sunny skies.
Highs are in the low 20’s, with lows tonight being around 10. Skies will become more clear, just in time for the weekend.
