  1. Water restrictions are continuing in La Crete, as the hamlet is under a Stage 2 Advisory.
  2. The EVAC order for the Dene Tha First Nation has been lifted.
  3. Victoria Cornick takes over as Superintendent of HFCRD from Betty Turpin, who has announced her retirement. (Interview in separate story)
  4. Premier Danielle Smith is visiting the Northwest, taking part in Town Halls, including tomorrow in Peace River and High Prairie, and Friday in Wanham.
  5. Council meetings will be down to one per month for the two months in the summer in most jurisdictions.
  6. Nolan Cardinal has signed with the Whitecourt Wolverines. The 16 year old forward spent most of this past season with the U18 La Crete Lumberjacks of the All-Peace hockey league.
  7. Wheatbelt Baseball League tonight… Manning is in Peace River, The Stamps are 5-1, the Mets are 3-3.
  8. The Toronto Blue Jays play the second of a three-game set tonight at home to Arizona. The Jays go with a bullpen day, with Eric Lauer starting against Eduardo Rodriguez.
  9. A mix of sun and cloud is forecasted for the Northwest this afternoon. A chance of showers in for the Peace and Big Lakes as well, with highs in the Low 20’s.
    Lows tonight are again around 10, with skies clearing out, just in time for the weekend.
