  1. Alberta Health Services has put out another alert to potential measles exposures in Peace River.
    The latest one happened at the Peace River Community Health Centre Emergency Department in the evening of May 14.
  2. The Canadian Union of Postal Workers have put Friday, as the day where workers will be walking the picket lines.
    This would be the second time in six months for services to be disrupted, following the walk-off in November and December.
  3. Berwyn Village Council has entered into a three-year agreement with the Town of Grimshaw on water services.
    Council has also reviewed inventory in the Berwyn arena, in which items belong to either the Village, or the Arena Society.
  4. Grimshaw Town Council has approved installation of a commemorative crosswalk on 47th Ave and 50th St.
    The town has also appointed Tamara Lorenzen as Water Operator.
  5. Peace River Town Council has approved the addition of one permanent Community Peace Officer, to increase presence abnd enforcement in town.
    Council has also submitted suggestions to the Impact Assessment Agency of Canada, with regards to the Peace River Nuclear Project.
    The latest three-year financial performance review shows a decline in debt from $21,500 to just slightly under $5,000, compared to the last review that ended in 2020.
    A new community group, the Arbo Revitalization Society, has been formed to help rejuvenate the Arboretum in the town’s North end.
  6. The Sagitawa Friendship Center is moving forward, after the fire at the Ground Level Youth Center, earlier this month.
    The Youth Center is now part of the new Sagitawa Center, however, the plans to transition the building to recovery housing has been put on hold.
  7. Premiers from Western Canada are to meet today to kick off a two-day conference in Yellowknife.
    This annual conference comes two weeks before all Canada’s premiers are to meet with Prime Minister Mark Carney in Saskatoon.
    Danielle Smith said she plans to advocate for new pipelines.
  8. Wheatbelt Baseball League tonight… Peace River is in Manning, 7:15 at the Ball Diamonds.
  9. NHL playoffs tonight… Game 1 of the West Final, Edmonton is in Dallas.
  10. The Toronto Blue Jays continue their series with San Diego at Roger’s Center tonight. Kevin Gausman starts for the Jays against Randy Vasquez.
  11. A chance of showers is in the cards in the Mackenzie and Big Lakes this afternoon. The Peace will see a mix of Sun and Cloud.
    Highs are around 20 in the Peace and Mackenzie, but only 12 in the Big Lakes. Lows tonight are around 5, except for 1 degree in the Peace.
    Skies will clear out tomorrow, and start to get quite warm by next week.
