- Peace Regional RCMP are searching for assistance to identify a suspect in a stolen vehicle case.
Earlier this month, Police noticed a vehicle in the ditch from a distance, and a person was running away.
Upon realizing the car was stolen from an area of 88th street in Peace River, an investigation was launched. - Police around the area are having problems, as numerous 911 calls are being made by children playing with old cell phones.
What is being disregarded is that even with old phones, the emergency function is still active, therefore calls are being placed and dispatchers are answering, thus wasting the resource’s time. - Plans are being made for the first long weekend of the camping season in 2025. Many areas in the Northwest are under a Fire Ban, as the dry and windy weather continues.
However, details may have to be made around not having traditions, like roasting hotdogs and marshmellows, or even just having a campfire in general. - The County of Northern Lights wants to celebrate with the public.
Coffee and cake is being served tonight from 5-8 in the Council Chambers in Manning, to celebrate 30 years. - The province has reported 39 new cases, bringing the total to 365 since early March.
Most of those have been in the Southern and Central zones, but AHS has put recent exposure alerts in Peace River, Grimshaw and Valleyview. - The Provincial government is freezing the industrial carbon price at $95 per tonne of emissions.

The Grande Prairie Storm , at 1-1, play this afternoon against Trenton Ontario, while the Calgary Canucks, at 2-1, play tonight against Edmunston New Brunswick. - NHL playoffs tonight… Game 4 – Winnipeg is in Dallas, the Stars lead 2-1.
- World Hockey Championships in Sweden and Denmark… Canada, at 2-0, plays France, starting just after Noon today.
- The Toronto Blue Jays start a three-game set at Roger’s Center tonight against Tampa Bay. Jose Berrios starts for the Jays against Shane Baz.
- A slight chance of showers continues today in the Northwest. Highs this afternoon are around 20 degrees, with lows tonight being around 5.
The coolest day of the week is tomorrow in the Peace and Mackenzie, and Thursday in the Big Lakes, but it will be decent on the long weekend.
