- Red Earth Creek RCMP and partners have discovered drug lab materials near Trout Lake, and are looking for suspects.
On the Easter Long weekend, an abandoned vehicle was discovered containing the materials, as well as stolen property. Other materials were discovered in a wooded area.
Meanwhile, firearms and chemical precursors were found near a tent, that had been set up for cooking meth. - High Prairie RCMP has been cleared of any wrongdoing in a case in March of 2020.
The case involved the circumstances of a man being admitted to hospital after an altercation with officers. - Wildfire officials and local firefighters are continuing to control the dry vegetation with prescribed burns in the area.
Another burn is happening today and tomorrow in the Hutton Creek and Cadotte River areas, east of Deadwood, where nearly 1,000 hectares of land will be burned. - The town of Valleyview has appointed a new CAO. Jim Fedyk steps into the role, just after the May Long Weekend.
Fedyk spent the past 15 years working in senior leadership roles in municipalities across Alberta and Saskatchewan.
Most recently, he worked as the Assistant CAO and Director of Community Services in Flagstaff County, located in Sedgewick, east of Camrose. - They are people that sacrifice time to help in events like parades, conferences, and municipal gatherings.
