  1. Voting continues all across the country today, as the Federal Election takes place.
    Polling stations are open until 8:00 tonight, and after that, Trending 55’s coverage of election results begin.
  2. Authorities in High Level are looking for a suspect in a school-ground robbery.
    Police say last Sunday, a youth male was riding his bike at Spirit of the North Community School, when he was approached by a man, brandishing a suspected firearm.
  3. Vulcan RCMP in Southern Alberta, have a Peace River man in custody on B&E charges.
    Police say last Sunday, they responded to a commercial alarm, and while on route, noticed two Fire Trucks from nearby Champion, travelling at high speed, without lights activated.
    One suspect was eventually arrested, that being 25 year-old Jaeden Glabb of Peace River.
  4. People on the West Hill in Peace River had to contend with a Telus service outage yesterday.
    Officials say a major fibre line had been vandalized in the early morning hours, a suspect used a power tool to cut through the line near the Saddleback area.
  5. Grimshaw Town Council is in the review stage of a letter regarding the proposed Peace River Nuclear Power Project.
    Council moved to study the Initial Project Description, submitted by Energy Alberta, and provide questions and comments to the CAO.
    This is to be done before the Peace Regional Energy Committee meeting, scheduled for May 7.

  7. NHL Playoffs tonight… Game 4 – Tampa’s in Florida, with the Panthers up 2-1. Game 5 – Colorado is in Dallas with the series tied 2-2.
  8. The Toronto Blue Jays are licking their wounds after a disasterous week last week, losing 5 of 6 in Houston and New York.
    The Jays are flying home today, and will start a three game set with Boston tomorrow.
  9. Cloud cover will drape over the Northwest this afternoon. The Peace and Mackenzie might see some showers in the next 24 hours.
    Highs this afternoon are in the Low to mid teens, with lows tonight around 5.
    The sunshine will reappear possibly on Wednesday, with temps going back up again to possibly the mid 20’s be Friday.
