  1. Spirit River RCMP have arrested a resident from Woking on outstanding warrants.
    41 year-old Kyle Dale Hudson was taken into custody earlier this week on warrants from both Woking and Grande Prairie.
  2. One person is dead following a single-vehicle rollover on Highway 674, just west of Teepee Creek.
    Police responded to the accident on Wednesday evening, where personnel extracted the occupant from the vehicle.
  3. Tradeshow season continues this weekend in the Northwest, with three events happening.
    One of them is the Manning Regional Expo happening today and tomorrow at the Jack McAvoy Arena. (Trinidy Schmidt interview in separate story)
  4. Organizers say that the turnout is always very high, and this year anticipates to be no exception.
    The 28th annual Clear Hills County Agricultural Trade Show took place this weekend at the Dave Shaw Memorial Complex in Hines Creek. Greg Coon interview in separate story)
  5. Trade show season is also continuing in La Crete. The annual Organic Farming Conference and Tradeshow is today at the Heritage Center.
    Farming sessions, innovations, and networking are among the attractions happening.
  6. Many organizations in Peace River have been getting together recently talking about Crime and Vagrancy in the downtown area of Peace River.
    One group of business owners is meeting on Sunday at the Peace Valley Inn to discuss the next steps.
  7. The rodeo season is continuing in the Peace Country with the Hard 8 indoor rodeo todasy and tomorrow at the Lewis Hawkes arena at Evergreen Park in Grande Prairie.
    Bull riding, bronc riding, bareback and barrel racing in featured. Action begins at 7pm tonight, and 3pm tomorrow afternoon.
  8. Golf Courses around the region are preparing to open for the season. The Driving Range at the Mighty Peace Golf Club is open, starting today.
    Other courses will be starting to open for business in the coming weeks.
  9. Five games in the NHL tonight. San Jose is in Edmonton, Minnesota is in Calgary, Montreal is in Ottawa, Detroit is in Tampa Bay, and Pittsburgh is in New Jersey.
  10. The Toronto Blue Jays begin a three-game weekend set in Baltimore tonight. Bowden Francis starts for the Jays against Tomoyuki Sugano.
  11. A mix of sun and cloud is in the skies, and the wind picks up in the Peace and Big Lakes this afternoon.
    Meanwhile, rain continues to fall in the Mackenzie, and will do so until at least tomorrow morning.
    Highs this afternoon are around 10 degrees, with lows tonight around the freezing mark.
    Digits dip tomorrow, but will rise again, and skies will clear out for Sunday, and be back to the low to mid teens by Monday.
