  1. The Canada Post Strike is over. Operations resume and workers are back on the job, as of Tuesday morning.
    Federal Labour Minister Steven MacKinnon ordered employees back to work over the weekend.
  2. Deputy Prime Minister and Federal Finance Minister Chrytia Freeland has resigned from cabinet.
    In a statement, Freeland said the decision was made after Prime Minister Justin Trudeau offered her another cabinet position.
  3. Roads in the Northwest are still quite tricky as people head back to work on this Monday morning.
    Mother Nature dumped 10-15 cm of snow on the Peace Region, and 15-20 cm on the Mackenzie this past weekend.
  4. In the meantime, municipalities are keeping residents up-to-date with their snow clearing procedures.
    Many roadways in town have been cleared, but most are still to be cleared.
  5. Peace River Rotaract has been busy over the past few days.
    The new Subzero Skateway is taking full shape, as work has commenced on the new Ice Trail at the Norman Boucher Arboretum across from the Baytex Energy Center.
    Donations are still being accepted for this project, as Rotaract is hoping to have the facility up and running by Christmas.
  6. Alberta Premier Danielle Smith says using the notwithstanding clause to shield her government’s transgender health restrictions is on the table as a “last resort.”
    A provincial law will ban doctors from providing gender-affirming treatment such as puberty blockers and hormone therapy for those under 16.
  7. Hockey Alberta is releasing their host sites for Provincial Championships this Spring.
    Peace River has been chosen to host the Alberta 18U C championships, March 27-30.
  8. Three games in the NHL tonight… Florida is in Edmonton, Colorado is in Vancouver, and Washington is in Dallas.
  9. The NFL Monday-nighter is a choosing of your favorite team… Two games, Chicago is in Minnisota, and Atlanta is in Las Vegas.
  10. A mix of sun and cloud will be present, but the digits are around -20 and lower for the balance of this week.
    Lows tonight are between -25 and -35 with frostbite-type wind chills.
    The coldest part of the week will be between tonight and Wednesday, but the Peace and Big Lakes could see snow on Wednesday tohelp take the edge off numbers.
