  1. The “Lock it or Lose it” campaign is underway in the Peace Region. The program is expanding this year to include the communities of Grimshaw and Manning.

  2. Town crews in High Level are currently busy, with the weather getting warmer. Spring Maintenance is underway including street sweeping, patching and drain management.
    Town Administration has also appointed Ron Leaf as the Interim CAO of the town. Leaf starts his new role on Sunday.
  3. RCMP in Slave Lake have two area residents in custody after being advised of a B&E to the Lesser Slave Lake Regional Waste Management building on the highway.
    A 52 year-old man and 42 year-old woman were both arrested, and face court dates in June.
  4. Ottawa’s newest budget is getting mixed reviews across Alberta, with many questioning how the proposed reforms will actually solve the country’s housing crisis.
    Alberta’s Finance Minister Nate Horner says the federal government overspent, overtaxed and over-regulated Canadians.
  5. Grimshaw’s Keets Fawcett has moved up in the rankings for prospects for the NHL Draft.
    Central Scouting has Fawcett at number 138 among North American skaters. He had 45 points in 65 games with the WHL’s Calgary Hitmen this season.
  6. Toronto Raptors player Jontay Porter has been handed a lifetime ban from the National Basketball Association after a betting investigation.
    The investigation also found that he limited his own participation in one or more games for betting purposes, and bet on NBA games himself.
  7. Four games in the NHL tonight… Edmonton is in Arizona, Toronto is in Tampa Bay, Pittsburgh is at the Islanders, and St. Louis is in Dallas.
  8. The Toronto Blue Jays look for the sweep this afternoon at Rogers Center against the Yankees. Kevin Gausman starts for the Jays against Marcus Stroman.
  9. Environment and Climate Change Canada issued a snowfall warning for a number of communities on Wednesday, including Flin Flon, The Pas and Thompson.
    Snow accumulations between 15 and 30 cm are expected over the next two days in addition to Tuesday night’s snowfall.
  10. Sunny skies, but slightly below normal temperature are in store for the Northwest today.
    Highs are staying single today, around the 7 degree mark, with lows around -10 tonight.
