  1. Alberta Wildfire officials are contending with an out of control fire in between Manning and Keg River.
    The fire started yesterday afternoon and the cause of it is still under investigation.
  2. Projects in the Holy Family Catholic Regional Division are making the future look bright. One project is the modernization of St. Andrew’s School in High Prairie.
    The Division is also in early discussion of St. Thomas More School in Fairview transfer to the Division from the Grande Prairie Division. (Betty Turpin Interview on App)
  3. The Peace River School Division is expanding on a project for the school in Red Earth Creek.
    A request for additional space was approved by Alberta Education, to include two permanent classrooms, additional CTS space, and additional storage space.
  4. The provincial Government has earmarked $30 million dollars over the next three years to support Indigenous business.
    Two recipients includes $750,000 to both the Bigstone Limited near Wabasca, and the Paddle Prairie Land Development Corporation, for the purchase of heavy equipment.
  5. The NorthernLink Ag, Home and Sport Show starts today and runs through Saturday at the Arena and Northwestern Polytechnic in Fairview.

  6. More than 220,000 customers without power in Quebec as spring storm dumps heavy snow.,
    Meteorologists say Montreal could see up to 20 centimetres of snow by the end of the weather system.
  7. The Junior B provincial Hockey tournament is underway at the Baytex Energy Center in Peace River.
    Games today is St. Albert against Wainwright at Noon, La Crete against Okotoks at 3:30, and North Peace against Calgary at 8:00.
  8. Four Canadian teams hit the ice in the NHL today. Calgary is in Winnipeg, Tampa Bay is in Montreal, and Florida is in Ottawa.
  9. Canada plays their first game today at the World Women`s Hockey Championships in Utica New York today. Canada plays Finland, who lost 4-0 yesterday to the Czech Republic.
  10. The Toronto Blue Jays have a travel day today after losing two of three in Houston. The Jays play three in the Bronx this weekend.
  11. The weather will begin to clear off and warm up as the weekend rolls into the Northwest.
    Digits will stay in the single-numbers today, but could hit two numbers as early as Saturday.
