  2. No physician is on site at the Fairview Health Complex Emergency Department until 7:00 tomorrow morning.
    As well, no doctor is on-site on Monday and Tuesday of next week.
  3. A 51 year-old man is dead following a collision in Grande Prairie yesterday morning.
    The man was driving a pickup truck eastbound on Highway 668 on the south end of the city, when he was rear-ended by a semi.
  4. Alberta Grains has its first-ever board of Directors, that contains a local twist.
    Tasha Alexander of Brownvale and Greg Sears of Sexsmith have been selected to represent Region 6, which cover the Northwest.
  5. The Alberta Medical Association wrapped up a 24-hour social media campaign outlining the issues facing family doctors.
    Doctor shortages have been an issue in several communities in the Peace Region, most notably in Fairview and Spirit River in recent months.
  6. Premier Danielle Smith says changes underpinning new policies surrounding transgender youth will come in the fall legislature sitting.
  7. Mounties are launching this month another round of body-worn camera field tests in Alberta, Nunavut and Nova Scotia, this time with a new product.
    In Alberta, frontline RCMP in Grande Prairie, St. Paul, and Parkland County will participate in the pilot that will last eight to 10 weeks.
    Smith said the goal is to stop youth from making life-altering biological decisions before they are mature enough to do so.
  8. The 2024 youth Olympics are finished in Gangwon South Korea, and Peace River’s Annika Behnke is coming home with two medals.
    Behnke won Gold in pairs figure skating and won Bronze in the team skating event.

  10. Five AJHL clubs, Brooks, Okotoks, Blackfalds, Sherwood Park and Spruce Grove, announced that they’ve reached agreements to join the BCHL effective immediately.
    That means the AJHL will operate with just 11 teams for the rest of this season.
