The RCMP’s Major Crimes Unit is now treating the investigation of a body found near Spirit River as a homicide.
The Spirit River detachment was notified of a body found on June 11 on Highway 677 west of Highway 2 near the Woking turn-off.

An autopsy was done on the body and the victim was a 19-year-old male from Clairmont.
The Mounties are not releasing his name.
The RCMP also wants to thank the people that sent in dash cam footage.
The investigation continues and no further details are available at this time.
