Our Subway Athlete of the Month for June is Gracy Sololoski.
She’s a grade 8 student at Grimshaw Public School and is a track and field athlete who placed 2nd in both javelin and discus respectively in the Zones competition in Grande Prairie.
“I did not think that I would’ve done good in javelin. I thought my best ones were gonna be high jump and discus, but I did beat my best in both of those two events. It was pretty interesting to see how I placed.”
Gracy says she’s been doing sports since a young age, and building on that has helped her get better.
“I did really well in track and field in grades 5 and 6 so I thought why not try junior high and high school stuff. I did better than I thought. We only practiced like four times and then we had divisionals.”
