The equipment is here, and now the production can begin.
Smoky River Decortication is getting towards the production stage of their plant in Donnelly.
The installation process will be taking place this month, with full-time manufacturing set to begin this fall.
The facility was built with the capability of housing two separate decortication lines, with possible expansion on the horizon.
At this time, the plant would be able to process five tones of product per hour, and with a second line, increased production is in the cards.
The goal of the plant, slated to open in November, is to produce high quality hemp fibre and hurd for products like textiles, building materials, paper, and food.
