Slave Lake arrest male for Break and Enter into local business
Slave Lake, Alta. – On March 31, 2024, at approximately 11:30 p.m., Slave Lake RCMP received a complaint of a suspicious vehicle at a local business on Caribou Trial in the industrial area of Slave Lake.
RCMP attended and located the suspicious vehicle and determined it was stolen out of the High Level area. Upon investigation, it appeared the occupant had fled once members arrived. RCMP conducted patrols in the area and determined the driver had subsequently broke into a neighbouring business.
RCMP then searched the neighbouring business and located and arrested a male hiding in another vehicle.
As a result of the investigation Dillon John DUFFY (23) who is a resident of Edmonton, Alta. is charged with:
- Break and Enter to a Business
- Possession of Stolen Property
- Fail to comply with Release Order (2*Charges)
At the time of his arrest DUFFY also had outstanding warrants out of Edmonton, Alta.
DUFFY had a judicial interim release hearing and adjourned his show cause hearing until April 3, 2024 to appear before the Alberta Court of Justice in Slave Lake.
“Reducing property crimes in our town and industrial areas is a priority of the Slave Lake RCMP and we continue to encourage members of the community to call and report any suspicious person or vehicle. “We want to actively target these property offenders to ensure a safer community.” says Staff Sergeant Casey Bruyns, Slave Lake RCMP Detachment Commander.
