It’s a heart-breaker for Nampa’s Kayla Skrlik in St. Paul…
Selena Sturmay of Edmonton wins the Provincial Women’s Curling championship with a 6-5 win over Skrlik.
Leading 5-3 heading into the 9th end without hammer, Skrlik forces Sturmay to score just one to lead 5-4 heading home with the Hammer.
But Skrlik needed to draw full four-foot against two Sturmay stones, but she knew as the hammer left her hand that the stone was heavy.
Sturmay steals two, and the win.
She now goes on the the Canadian Championships next month in Calgary.
Skrlik got the luck of the draw as she beat Jesse Hunkin of Spruce Grove and Nicky Kaufman of Edmonton to qualify for the playoffs.
Each team finished the Round-robin at 4-3.
Today, Skrlik edged Serena Gray-Withers of Edmonton 9-8 in the morning, before the heart-breaking loss in the afternoon final.
