Four different grass fires had to be put out on Saturday night by the Peace River Fire Department.
One fire was was due to sparks from a power distribution transformer, but the other three around town were deemed to be caused by human influence.
The three in town were on 80 St. in the Westbrook area near Misery Mountain, 98 St. just south of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and 101 St. in the South End of town.
With the current very dry grass conditions, the Fire Department would like to remind everyone to be extra cautious when outside.
Whilst precipitation is forecasted for Peace River this week, Fire Chief Tim Harris says “the grass can dry up very quickly at this time of year and people should always exercise caution when outside around town and in the hills”
