Second degree murder charges pending after woman found deceased in Chateh

On April 11, 2021 at 11:20 a.m., Chateh RCMP received a call of a sudden death at residence, where they responded and found a deceased adult female.

The Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit along with the RCMP Forensic Identification Unit were called in to assist in the investigation surrounding the death.

There will be an autopsy done this week by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.

The deceased women has been identified as 39-year-old Trudy Didzena of Chateh.

25-year-old Kirk George Providence of Chateh has been charged with second degree murder in relation to Didzena’s death.

The victim and the accused were known to each other.

After a Judicial hearing, Providence did not speak to bail and is scheduled to appear in Chateh Provincial Court on April 21, 2021.

The MCU is still investigating the circumstances leading up to the death and no more information will be released as the matter is now before the courts.

Chateh, Alberta is 288km northwest of Peace River, Alberta.
