It’s been three years in the works. The long awaited new facility for the Sagitawa Friendship Society is now open.
The incredible transformation of the old Al Adair Rec Centre in Peace River will allow for a diverse expansion of projects and programs.
The overhauled building features meeting rooms, family & youth areas, shelter space, bathroom facilities that include showers, kitchens, a computer lab, office space for rent, and many more amenities.
The non-profit organization and its staff is dedicated to being there to offer the facility and supports to enrich the lives of indigenous and non-indigenous people in the area. Sagitawa has food programs, free wifi, workshops & events, and coming soon, a new overnight shelter.
In a recent news release they point out that the generosity of the funders, donors, sponsors, and partners is a big reason why the centre was allowed to grow into what it has become.
“The Sagitawa Friendship Society envisions their new facility as a haven of camaraderie, learning, healing, and growth, offering a beacon of hope to all who enter its embrace”.
Sagitawa welcomes Community Members to visit at any time during regular business hours.
A Grand Opening Celebration is expected sometime in the New Year.
